“For me, I actually think the more important thing is that we need to get inflation under control. Until that happens, we’re going to see, I think a lot of volatility in the marketplace, in all directions. Little pieces of news can drive people and businesses to draw some more extreme conclusions that I think might be appropriate. And all of this I think is driven by the fact that we have inflation that is too high. The U.S economy functions best when there’s confidence about where the economy is going to be and what is trajectory is going to be over both the short and the medium term and high inflation undermines that.”
